THE FOUNDER

Washington DC based black-owned skincare business. Founded by Dr. Kofi Onumah. Co-owned and operated with wife--Dr. Chavon Onumah and sons.

Discovered by pharmacist Kofi Onumah while exploring natural skin care alternatives for and with his two boys, Ohene is a brand that combines nature’s own gifts to create products that turn simple routine bathing into an experience distinguishable from other daily skincare products. When we say natural - - we mean it.

THE MEANING

OHENE trademark is derived from a West African adinkra symbols that means king. Ohene represents leadership, pure motives and great results for the tribe.

"Ohene", derived from the Akan language of Ghana, West Africa means "king". The Ohene logo is derived from the adinkra symbol ‘adinkrahene’ which incorporates elements of purity and artisanship. To me, Ohene means more than just king - Ohene embodies royalty and the legacy of a royal family. Our supporters are royal - in mind, body, and spirit. Through our products, we seek to deliver quality fit for royalty, while instilling the royal spirit in our youth." - Kofi Onumah
